GENERAL STATEMENT

Jordan Journal of Arts (JJA) is an international peer-reviewed research journal issued quartely by the Deanship of Research and Graduate Studies at Yarmouk University, Irbid, Jordan. JJA is funded by the Scientific Research Support Fund (SRSF) in Amman, Jordan. JJA upholds the highest standards of publication ethics to meet the reqiuerd ethical norms for publishing articles in a peer-reviewed journal. All means of preventing any publication misconduct are practiced.  JJA ensures that all parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, and reviewers—commit to preventing any form of unethical behavior.

Editorial Board Policy:

The Editorial Board follows the necessary procedures and policies to ensure the quality of the published material and to maintain the integrity of the work. The Editorial Board makes decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of an article solely based on its academic and scientific merits. This decision is made independently by the Editorial Board without the publisher involvement. Specialized peer reviewers with appropriate expertise and no conflicts of interest are selected by the Editorial Board. The editorial staff takes utmost precaution to prevent any disclosure of submitted manuscript information to anyone other than the corresponding author, potential reviewers, and the publisher. Reviewers are consistently reminded not to reveal any information about the manuscript they are reviewing. Additionally, the editorial staff is are committed to protecting reviewers' identities, unless reviewers choose to disclose their names.

The Editorial Board and Editor-In-Chief make every effort to ensure that papers are reviewed solely based on  scholarly merits, without pressuring authors to cite specific publications for non-scholarly reasons. When there are changes in authorship for appropriate reasons, editors should require that all authors (including those whose names are being removed from the author list) agree to these changes formally and in writing.

Editorial Processes

When a manuscript submitted for publication is received, an acknowledgement of receipt is promptly conveyed to all authors.  All submitted manuscripts undergo a preliminary evaluation by the editorial team. The editorial board reserves the right to reject a paper without initiating the peer review process if it is deemed unsuitable for the journal's readership or lacks quality. The decision to bypass peer review is solely based on the scientific content of the paper and is not influenced by prior opinions about the authors or their affiliated institution.

If the manuscript is deemed suitable for potential publication, the Editorial Board selects at least two suitable peer reviewers possessing relevant expertise and devoid of any potential conflicts of interest. The selected reviewers are entrusted with the task of reviewing the manuscript. They are requested to evaluate various aspects, including the article's originality, scholarly and professional relevance, significance, novelty of approach, organizational structure, writing clarity, and identification of any ethical issues or misconduct.

Reviewers are also asked to provide explicit recommendations regarding acceptance, rejection, or the need for major or minor revisions. Based on the reviewers' reports and recommendations, the editorial board then makes a determination on whether the article is suitable for publication. The decision, accompanied by the review reports, is subsequently communicated to the authors. The editor-in-chief is responsible for ensuring that the reviews are received in a timely manner.

PLAGIARISM

JJA editorial board does not accept any type of plagiarism. JJA holds no accountability for plagiarism. All authors submitting a manuscript to JJA must affirm that their manuscript is entirely their own creation and has not been copied, either fully or partially, from other sources. Proper credit and citation for all relevant works used in the article should be provided by the authors. JJA's team employs anti-plagiarism software to screen all submitted articles for plagiarism, duplicate content, or redundant publication. Additionally, reviewers are tasked with reporting any instances of unethical conduct or misconduct.

In cases where confirmed misconduct is discovered, the article in question will be promptly rejected, and any future submissions from the author(s) will be declined. If significant concerns are raised by readers, reviewers, or others regarding the integrity, validity, or reporting of the academic work, the editor-in-chief initiates communication with all authors, affording them an opportunity to respond to these concerns. If their response proves unsatisfactory, the editor-in-chief escalates the matter to the institutional level by contacting the head of the authors' institution.

Should a published article be identified as a duplicate or redundant publication, a retraction notice will be published, and copies of correspondence will be forwarded to the head of the authors' institution. Retracted papers must remain accessible online, marked prominently as retracted in all online versions, to ensure they are no relied upon by future readers.

COPYRIGHT

Upon submission, the authors are requested to declare that the manuscript has neither been previously published nor is being considered for publication elsewhere. A copyright transfer statement, shifting ownership from the authors to Yarmouk University, is mandatory prior to manuscript consideration for publication. The essential form for this transfer (Copyright Form) is provided by the editor-in-chief before submission is sent to referees. Reproduction of any part of a published work is forbidden without written permission from the editor-in-chief.
