This research aims to study decorative designs and their role in dealing with visual distortion in the dwelling by identifying the causes of visual distortion, its types and shapes, and how to address them. The importance of the research lies in its dealing with one of the important topics in the field of home interior design, namely, visual distortion in the internal spaces of dwellings. It attempts  to enrich and increase knowledge in this field and proposes innovative solutions that contribute to treating the causes of such visual distortion. The descriptive and analytical method was used in investigating the causes of visual distortion of the general appearance of the internal spaces of the dwelling while the experimental approach was used in presenting the proposed designs to address the causes of visual distortion. The results of the research showed that it is not necessary to resort to financially costly solutions to solve design problems; instead,  they can be solved with some implementable ideas within reasonable budgets. Design problems that cause visual distortion can be converted into aesthetic solutions by thinking with a different vision aimed at achieving beauty in the environment in which we live. The research recommended that directing those affected by the visual distortion of the interior space they use need to consult with the specialists, i.e., decorators and designers to find inexpensive solutions that suit the place and its function. such users could also find help in reviewing the decoration sites to reach implementable solutions in cost-effective ways.
