Abstract

Abstract

The realization of the values of cultural identity in the Algerian theater is to talk about these sources before the play, which embodied Algerian texts with creative systems, it took its intellectual and artistic material through the local folklore and working on its various dimensions, as the inspiration of heritage is among the pillars of the Algerian theater since its inception and in its nature the main feature in the society’s acquisition of its identity, starting from working on the art of Qaraqouz and the art of muwashahat, to relying on the element of sayings and the storyteller as a main character in theatrical work, and returning to faith in the righteous saints and rejecting forms of magic and sorcery, starting from the play of El Guerrâb ouas-Sâlihîn by director ould Abderrahmane Kaki.

Therefore, the formulation of the concept of national identity and its rooting in the Algerian theater exclusively, and the Arab theater in general, we realize that the identity of the theater is a moving concept that has developed historically and chronologically, and this is due to the relationships of reality and its organic connection with local, Arab and international variables and experiences.
