Abstract

Abstract

The research presents a semiotic study of a hybrid musical production that spread widely in Libya during the second half of the twentieth century, represented by the Tripoli song with the old urban traditional musical and poetic repertoire of Tripoli. It underwent the changes of modernity that indicated the emergence of the modern Libyan variety song to replace its traditional predecessor.
