Abstract

Abstract

Child theater is a theater with all the components and elements that make up the final image of the theater. The results of this research showed that the representative performance of the fictional character in the two theatrical performancesin the sample of the study was characterized by exaggeration in many details of the actor's representation of the fictional character and highlighting its features. The actor's representation of the fictional character in the two theatrical performances under study was also characterized by comedic performance in most of the roles, with the purpose of creating an atmosphere of joy and pleasure, by employing the vocal and kinetic system. The research population included child theater performances that relied on fictional characters in Baghdad theaters, the national theater in particular, and for the period from 2007 to 2008. The sample of the study consisted of two plays, namely, “The Missing Pearl” and “Asia Going to School”. The researchers recommend holding training workshops by specialists to enhance and improve the performance of actors working in the field of child theater performances.
