Abstract
The research seeks to shed light on the film of Lawrence of Arabia, which dealt with the events and processes of the Great Arab Revolution and the personages who participated in this revolution by providing an objective, scientific reading of the character of Odeh Abu Tayeh, as it appeared in Lawrence of Arabia, where the image of this Jordanian national character suffers from distortion and gets presented contrary to reality. This is done by analyzing the character of Odeh Abu Tayeh as a realistic figure who has an influential and effective role in building contemporary Jordanian history, as mentioned in local, Arab and international references and source. The character of Odeh as it appeared in the film was distorted in terms of content and dramatic (operative) dialogue, while the rest of the main and even secondary characters were presented by the film in a way that is closely consistent with the reality of these characters. It is a serious attempt to show the true image of Odeh Abu Tayeh as a patriotic figure that has been distorted and presented as an aggressive figure who is unable to adapt to the Other.
