Abstract

Abstract

This study was to monitor the most important developments imposed by modern techniques in playing the oud depending on its form, industry standards, and physical parts of the instrument during the twentieth century.

It is a fact that the evolution of the industry for musical instruments is a natural response to the development of the performing capabilities.

The researchers studied, the shape and dimensions of the instrumental parts of the oud used in traditional school, then they identified the most important changes in form and standards of the oud effected by the contemporary school.

They also linked and combined these changes with performance techniques that are characteristic of the modern school.

The importance of this study lias in the positive yield on performing and manufacturing through the understanding of concepts that are linked together.
