Abstract

The purpose of this study is to
suggest a method which enables the
violinists to overcome the difficulties of
shifting between positions in solo
performing. This is done through a
proposing “fingers-numbering” of the parts
that include difficulties in shifting in the
first movement of the Violin concerto for
Haitham Sukkarieh. The shifting process
between positions is considered of the vital
topics for studies in Violin performance
and very essential to make the best
performing.
The importance of this study lies
in suggesting a numbering system of the
fingers for the parts that include difficulties
in shifting between positions, which leads
to developing the best shifting skill
between positions with high technical and
artistic efficiency. Also the importance of
this study is due to the fact that it motivates
the ambitious performer to create new
methods in the shifting process which
enable him to achieve continuous progress.
Finally, the research concludes with some
results that are related to this study
