Abstract
This study aimed to determine the symbolism of the popular children's songs in Jordan. To achieve this, the researchers divided the symbolic implications of children songs into the religious, economic, social, educational, metaphysical and national. The results indicated that the children`s songs and games have specific implications, although some of the songs focus on highlighting the melody more than the meaning. These meanings and implications stem from the actual social and religious life, and are inspired by the Jordanian heritage. It was also found that economic and political conditions play aprominent role in the child`s attachment to specific types of songs and games. In light of these findings the study concluded with a number of recommendations.
