The role of contemporary arts in enriching printmaking works among art education students is a fundamental topic that bridges artistic innovation with modern technologies alongside traditional techniques, thereby opening broad horizons for renewal and innovation. With the advancement of technology and the rise of global contemporary trends, printmaking is no longer merely a traditional process for producing repetitive images; rather, it has become a means of artistic expression that allows students to explore new concepts that merge the past with the present while adding a unique personal touch to their printed works. Contemporary arts contribute to re-evaluating traditional printmaking techniques through their integration with digital media and experimentation with colors, lines, and unconventional materials. This integration provides art education students with opportunities to acquire advanced technical skills, enabling them to transcend classical limitations and articulate bold, innovative creative visions. Moreover, interaction with various forms of contemporary art—such as abstract art, conceptual art, and media art—serves as a source of inspiration that promotes critical and experimental thinking, resulting in printmaking works that convey deep social and cultural messages. The significance of this study lies in its attempt to explore the role of interactive art in enhancing printmaking projects among art education students, and its contribution to fostering creativity and innovation in the field of printmaking. The central research question addressed in this study is: Can the field of manual artistic printmaking, with its diverse techniques, be enriched through the application of interactive art in the printmaking movement of students enrolled in the printmaking project course? one of the key findings of the study is the students' ability to effectively incorporate elements of interactive art within their printmaking projects—whether through visual or sensory engagement with the audience—which has led to noticeable improvements in both their creative and technical skills.
