Abstract

Abstract

This Research Aims to design a collection Of costumes for performers of Al Majrour folk dance by using the decoration of Huthayl's woman’s dress after incorporating the smart fabric into it. The importance of this study lies in contributing to the realization of the vision of the Ministry of Culture by upgrading the arts and introducing local culture and historical heritage by making use of the decorations of traditional fabrics to root the region’s costumes and link them to its Folklore. This research used the analytical descriptive approach with application. The descriptive approach was used to describe the costumes of the folk performing arts and the traditional clothes of the western region, Taif Governorate, specifically the Huthayl tribe. The analytical approach was used to analyze the decorations in the Huthayl Thobe (Al-Masdah). The application involved designing a costume set for a Taif majrour dancer, inspired by the decorations and cloth of the Huthayl Thobe (Al-Masdah). The expert arbitration card was used as a research tool. The main result of this research is designing a collection of costumes for performers of Al-Majrour folk dance decorated with decorative units that add intelligent textures to highlight its aesthetic value , inspired by the traditional dress of the area to contribute to the rooting of the region's costumes and linking them to its performing arts. One of the most important recommendations of the research is to urge designers to draw inspiration from traditional decorations for their distinctive ideas and techniques, as well as to preserve and document folklore through scientific studies and research.
