Ornamental Units of Some Traditional Jordanian Folklore Costums: An Analytical Artistic Study

Abstract
This study analyzed the Jordanian Folklore Costumes Group at the Jordanian Heritage Museum at Yarmouk University in Jordan and in Tiraz Museum: (Widad Kawar's Home for Arab Dress) in Amman, Jordan. The study used the descriptive approach to study the Jordanian folklore costumes group in these two museums through inspecting the heritage dimension and its impact on the designs of these costumes with their ornaments and colors, which identify the status of those societies through the eras. The study also uses analytical approach to define the ornamental formations and their various elements (Human, Floral, Geometric) as well as their different colors and the in symbolic dimension.
The study tested many scientific hypotheses in order to verify them. The most important of concerns the extent to which these costumes relate to the demographic composition of the Jordanian society in its various aspects. The study confirmed the close relation between these groups of traditional Jordanian folklore costumes and the traditions, culture and civilization of Jordanian society in terms of beliefs, values, and practices, elements, which have become a source of inspiration for designers and artists of different orientations.
