Abstract

Abstract

The study dealt with the issue of the openness of the frame in movies, which materializes clearly in The organic structure of the film. This openness is intended to make the audience not just focus on the borders of the displayed image on the screen whose limits embrace everything within, such as characters and configurations, but makes the audience aware of what is behind the picture, outside the frame, reaching to the mental image at the end. This type of style makes cognition something that prefers to create and tarnish the meaning and create eloquence and conciseness. Here we emphasize that openness does not mean a change of meaning but rather the process of giving birth to an idea from the image which not visible outside the frame. On that basis, the movie could be rich with symbols, metaphors, and references that mean more than they appear to mean. This study can confirm that the openness of the frame could be as great and important in the expression of the dramatic value as the other elements of the film.
