Abstract

Abstract

This study deals with new patterns of artistic expression, which are derived from the nature of the link between photographic techniques and contemporary plastic arts (drawing and painting). These patterns were identified through the mutual influence between the two methods. The problem of the study is embodied in the emergence of new patterns of expression reflecting the dialectic interdependence and mutual influence between the two technologies. The objectives of the research were to identify the cultural and artistic transformations of the society in the second half of the twentieth century, by examining the relationship between the photograph and contemporary art.

The first topic studies the issue of complementarity of roles in the artistic expression, whether in borrowing the plastic formations by the photographers or in the use by the plastic artists for the photographic image as an icon of contemporary culture: The third was devoted to the study procedures, which included five samples selected to achieve the objectives of the study.

The study concluded with several results, the most important of which is:

 The development of art techniques towards the uncommon and elusive has emphasized the importance of the merging of photographic programs with contemporary artistic thought.
