The Impact of a Training Course for High School Students Who Apply to Study Music at Jordanian Universities

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate if a musical training course would help high school students in Jordan to pass the musical abilities test which they take to study music at Jordanian universities. The study sample consisted of a group of high school students in Irbid governorate chosen purposely. The quasi-experimental method was used in this study. The study instrument consisted of pre- and post-test to find out how qualified the students were to passé the musical abilities test and the musical training course. The findings of this study showed that the musical training course is effective and can qualify high school students to pass a musical abilities test which they can access to study music at the Jordanian universities.
