National Criteria for Musical Education Curriculum for the Basic Teaching Stage in the Syrian Arab Republic

Abstract
This research aims to evaluate the degrees to which the National Criteria for musical education curriculum authorship in the Syrian Arab Republic to its aims, this evaluation is attempted in light of the current educational situation as seen by teachers of this curriculum at schools of basic education, and by specialist educational advisors.
The research consists of two parts: the theoretical, where the descriptive analytical module is used, and the practical, where experimental module is used.
The theoretical part covers educational fields related to the criteria. Other countries’ experiences in this field have been beneficial. It also explains the criteria and domains of authoring the curriculum of musical education, highlighting the importance of these criteria in setting up the curriculums.
The practical side includes a survey aiming to explore the opinions of teachers and specialist advisors. The survey has been tested to conform to the community the research is aimed for.
At the end of his research the author presented the results of this study, which reflect the consistency between these criteria and the educational situation and how it achieves its intended aims accordingly.
