Abstract

This research addresses the branch lyrical Solfege (Western and Arabic) at the Department of Music,  Yarmouk University The researchers noted that the existing curricula were in need of technical exercise that would improve the movie learner`s performance in this course. Thus, they conducted this study, which aims to develop technical exercise in lyrical Solfege (Western and Arabic) inspired by some popular Jordanian and Egyptian songs, the importance of the research lies in  its attempt to improve the level of Jordanian novice students  in this course and link them to their popular heritage, while at the same time introducing them to the Egyptian heritage and thus connecting the cultural bonds between the two countries. The research concluded with a sixteen exercise concert inspired by some popular Jordanian and Egyptian songs, and ended up with some relevant recommendations
